Kitchen + Baths Remodel - Dublin, Ohio

The Living Spaces

This is a project where we didn't change any openings, we just maximized the space we had, tweaked the layout, and added some unique details to make the space feel special.  We removed a giant peninsula that blocked the kitchen from the family room, replacing it with a large L-shaped island.

This is one of the sketches we did when we were thinking through the design.  Other than a few colors, it's actually pretty close!

The island functions as additional work space, a buffet during parties, and, of course, a seating area.

The trim detailing on the ceiling helps to visually organize the kitchen lighting and island; especially since it's such a large room that's open to the breakfast room.

We also updated the existing cabinetry by adding glass doors and painting what was already there.  Adding a stained mantel helped to tie this room to the kitchen as well, since these rooms are wide open to each other.

The Master Suite

Every once in a while, I have a client who asks me to help with finishes. Now, I am certainly not an interior designer, but it is really fun to be able to assist with the finishes sometimes! This project was exactly that. We reorganized this master suite a little, but a lot of it was cosmetic.

One of the first things I wanted to do was to remove the old dust shelf…I mean, plant shelf…above the door into the bathroom. We also wanted to add some character and detail to the ceiling.

By removing the old built-in garden tub, the room feels so much bigger!

The Hall Bathroom

The hall bathroom is used by a teenage boy and guests. So, we wanted to add a little bit of color in this space, while still keeping it relatively masculine.
